Understanding the Architecture
The Alpha Trading Engine is based upon a robust, innovative and highly componentized JavaTM platform supporting various top tier marketplaces. Particularly, the trading system utilizes an Active-Active failover mechanism ensuring a seamless trading experience which, coupled with the ability to “load balance” trading volumes by symbol, ensures high scalability and low latency in active markets. The JavaTM based platform creates an agile system allowing new functionality to be easily and reliably implemented to meet ever-changing market needs.
Understanding the Infrastructure
The infrastructure has been designed with full redundancy in mind. The disaster recovery site replicates all provisioned infrastructure in the primary production site. Within each operational site, all equipment is also duplicated locally. Network connectivity is supported through redundant circuits provided by truly diverse carriers.
Each operational site maintains hot-swappable components allowing for on-the-fly maintainability and extensibility. All infrastructure is designed using best-of-breed techniques to create a secure trading venue.
